Seattle Sounders FC vs LA Galaxy - MLS Playoff - Seattle Sports Photography

It's always fun to shoot a Seattle Sounders FC match but it's even more fun when it's playoff time!  The Sounders were down three goals to none heading into the second leg of their playoff matchup with LA Galaxy.  The Sounders were up 2-0 in the 57th minute however a goal by the Galaxy in the 68th minute took the wind out of their sails.  The Sounders won this match against the LA Galaxy but lost the aggregate 4-2.  The LA Galaxy are the 2012 Western Conference Champions and will face the Houston Dynamo in the MLS Cup.  Congrats to the Seattle Sounders for a great season!

Inaugural 2011 Match - Seattle Sounders FC vs LA Galaxy - Qwest Field

I got another opportunity to shoot the Seattle Sounders a few days ago thanks to a good friend.  This was the first match of the MLS season against the LA Galaxy and was broadcast on ESPN.  Looking at the forecast a day or two before the match I kept seeing 100% chance of rain.  For the first time in history the weather man was right....it rained almost the whole match!  Although I was wet and cold I had a great time and knew that the rain would add an extra bit to the photos.  I also got another opportunity to hang out and talk with my good buddy David Beckham.  It was nice to reconnect since the last time we saw each other.  He asked me if I was trying to grow out my hair to look like his and I politely told him, "no, this season I'm going with the Fredy Montero look."  Unfortunately the match didn't go the way that the Sounders had hoped as they were defeated 1-0.  Hopefully the next time I'm out there they will win and i'll stay dry!
