Each year for my birthday my wife makes a cake with a theme and a funny saying. One year the cake was in the shape of a ham sandwich and said "Hammy Birthday" because of my love for ham sandwiches. The following year she made a TV remote that said "Happy flippin birthday". For my 29th birthday she made a pirate hat and it said "Arrrrrrn't you glad you're not 30". My 30th birthday was a cake with the Masters golf tournament logo cause she had surprised me with tickets to the Masters.
This year my wife decided to turn my obsession with photography and Canon into a cake. The lens that I can't wait to get is the Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS. This lens is amazing and produces amazingly sharp images! She asked me about the lens so I thought...hmmmm....could I be getting this for my birthday? I was assuming not because of the pretty price tag. Turns out I think she was doing some reconnaissance work to find out the size of the lens. Well she made a great cake this year with fondant and Twizzlers for the famous Canon red ring. She even got all of the switches for the Autofocus and IS. She added the words "Try not to focus on how old you are". What a great line!
So here are a few pictures from the cake. Thanks Mandy for a wonderful birthday cake! Maybe next time it will be the real thing!
