Got the opportunity to shoot another Seattle Sounders match. All day the weather was holding out but as I was walking to CenturyLink field it started to rain.....not good. The whole game it rained! And I was wet!! It only stopped raining after the game and the players running off the field. The Sounders were playing Real Salt Lake in the second of their playoff matches. The Sounders needed to win by at least 3 to even think about moving on to the next round. At half the score was 0-0 and it was not looking good, however in the second half the Sounders mounted a comeback scoring 2 goals with over 20 minutes left. The Sounders fought and fought but fell short in the end. Even though the Sounders did not move on in the playoffs as they lost the aggregate score of the two matches 3-2, they did walk away with a shut out for Kasey Keller's final match. At the end of the match much of the crowd stuck around to cheer for Keller as he took one final walk around the field acknowledging them. The final shot below is his final farewell to the Seattle fans. Thanks for a great career Kasey!
Seattle Sounders FC vs Manchester United - CenturyLink Field
The Premier League Champion Manchester United Red Devils made a trek to Seattle to play the Seattle Sounders and for the first half it was quite a game. Kasey Keller had only given up one goal. What happened in the second half is not pretty and I shouldn't even write it. The Sounders gave up 6 more goals. In defense of the Sounders they did put their non-starters in for the second half. Manchester United's star Wayne Rooney scored a hattrick in about 20 minutes of play and definitely did not disappoint. It was also fun to see other ManU stars Nani, Ferdinand and Giggs. I had a ton of fun and again feel very priviledged to have been on the field!
